Man Gets Married And Divorced 3 Times In A Month — To The Same Woman

There was much more to the divorces than met the eye.

Marriage is undoubtedly one of the hardest and most rewarding journeys a person can embark on. In a successful marriage, individuals can have that partnership throughout the years, while marriages that unfortunately do not work out end in divorce or separation.

Divorce, while a taboo topic in some places, is not that uncommon, with around 30% of marriages ending in divorce.

One man added to these statistics with a whopping three divorces in 37 days, but they all happened with the same person.

A bank worker in Taiwan married his fiancé in April 2021 and put in a successful request for the mandated days off. The man and his wife presumably enjoyed the days together; however, the man divorced his bride ten days after the marriage ceremony

More confusingly, the man and woman remarried the following day.

Article 2 of Taiwan’s Labor Leave Rules states that companies must legally grant employees eight days of paid marriage leave. With his divorce and subsequent remarriage, the bank employee tried playing the system to get more time off and repeated this twice.

Following his third divorce and fourth marriage, the bank realized the man’s scheme and did not approve the paid time off. The employee filed a complaint with the Taipei Department of Labor, and the bank was fined 20,000 New Taiwan Dollars ($624 USD) for violating labor standards.

Ultimately, his scheme failed as the bank appealed the ruling and had the fine reversed the following year. While it didn’t work out, seeing how divorce can give a couple more time together is interesting!
