Married Couple Find Out They Were In The Same Picture 18-Years-Ago, Their Love Was Destiny

They took selfies at exactly the same time, but wouldn’t meet until 11 years later.

Is true love up to chance or fate? A married couple from Chengdu, Sichuan province, China might argue the latter after discovering they had visited the same place, at the same time, 18 years ago.

Their story sounds like something out of a K-Drama. While looking at old photos, the husband and wife (identified as Ye and Xue) realized they had both visited May Fourth Square in Qingdao on the same day.

Ye and Xue crossed paths in July of 2000, when they were still teenagers. Ye was visiting the square with a tour group while Xue was visiting it with her mother. The two teens didn’t know each other and wouldn’t truly meet until years later.

In these photos, Ye and Xue posed for a souvenir picture at precisely the same moment.

Xue’s photo caught Ye in the background!

Ye explained, “I was looking at the picture where my wife was sitting in front of the May Four Square, there’s also a man standing at far back. My reaction was: ‘Oh wait, that was me!’”

After that day, Ye and Xue could have never seen each other again, but fate had other plans.

In 2011, eleven years after their chance encounter, Ye and Xue met again. A friend introduced the pair after Ye had finished university in Suzhou and returned to Chengdu, his hometown. The couple hit it off and married a year later. They even took their wedding photo in Qingdao, not yet knowing how it had tied their fates together.

After hearing their story, friends say Ye and Xue are truly meant to be.
