MONSTA X’s Joohoney Secretly Paid For The Group’s $400 USD Meal—But Humbly Acted Like He Didn’t

We stan a humble king!

MONSTA X‘s Joohoney may look fierce on stage, but he’s one of the sweetest people right off it! This was proven in the latest episode of “SHOWNUayo,” a short video series following the days leading up to the mandatory military enlistment of oldest member Shownu.

A video of the group’s last meal together before he left was recently posted on the official MONSTA X YouTube channel. Joohoney, Shownu, Hyungwon, Minhyuk, I.M, and Kihyun ate traditional Korean food together.

In the middle of the meal, Joohoney suddenly got up and left. Kihyun initially believed that the rapper pretended to pay on behalf of everyone but did not follow through.

Joohoney pretended to pay for the food just now.

Joohoney allowed the misconception to take root as he told the group, “I didn’t pay” once he returned to the table.

In his solo interview, however, it was revealed that Joohoney truly did pay for the meal! He actually planned on treating everyone ever since his solo debut.

I actually wanted to pay for our member’s meal after my first title song, so I wanted to pay secretly…and since Shownu is going away, I paid for the meal.

The bill wasn’t anything to laugh at either. At ₩480,000 KRW (about $412 USD), MONSTA X and their staff members were able to have a filling meal. Like the humble guy that he is, Joohoney left the restaurant without much fuss, acting like nothing happened.

When the members found out, they thanked him profusely. Shownu was especially happy for the special meal prior to his enlistment.

The meal that we just had, which was delicious in itself, became more special because Joohoney surprised us by paying for the meal. Thank you for it, Joohoney.
