The “Single’s Inferno 4” Stars With The Most (And Least) Screen Time

One cast member was onscreen over 10x more than another.

Every episode of Netflix‘s Korean dating show Single’s Inferno 4 is over an hour long, but that time isn’t equally distributed among cast members. In fact, fans have noticed that some singles are getting far more screen time than others this season.

According to stats gathered by Instagram user @singlesinfernodata, who crunched the numbers for Episode 7 and Episode 8, the top two cast members had over ten times more screen time than the cast member with the least screen time.

Methodology: Featured Screen Time is assigned to the individual who is the primary focus in a given moment. For instance, during a discussion between two contestants, the screen time alternates between them, excluding background characters. If the scene shifts to an interview, the person featured in the interview receives the screen time. To ensure accuracy, passing comments in group shots, b-roll footage, and moments where a person’s face is shown but they are neither speaking nor the focus of the conversation are excluded.

The single with the most screen time for these episodes was Yuk Jun Seo, followed by Lee Si An, who was in many of the same scenes. According to these findings, both of them had over 20 minutes of screen time, while newcomer An Joong Hoon had less than five minutes. Out of the original cast members, Chung You Jin and Kim Min Seol had the least screen time (less than five minutes), while newcomer Park Hae Lin had slightly more.

The disparity between the singles’ screen time is even more apparent when looking at data from all the episodes that have been released so far. According to these stats, original cast member Lee Si An had over 60 minutes of screen time, while Bae Ji Yeon–who has also been in the show since Episode 1–had less than 20 minutes.
