All the members agreed they suited the courses they chose!

The members of NewJeans recently sat down with SiriusXM to connect with their international fans by having an entire interview in English. They talked about the global artists that appear on their playlists and how they felt listening to their singles “Ditto” and “OMG” for the first time.

The host was also curious about the girls’ personalities outside of being singers, so he asked them what they would have liked to study in university if they had never debuted as a member of NewJeans.

Minji went first, saying, “Maybe, I think, another second language?” She explained that, ever since she was young, she found the idea of different sounds in different languages having the same meaning fascinating. This interest was also the reason why Minji did her best to learn how to speak English!

The other girls complimented Minji by saying she would excel at learning languages since she was so good at it. Minji shyly brushed off their praise by saying she still had a lot to learn, and her fellow members were often the ones who taught her.

Hanni answered, “Before I came to Korea, I was really interested in science and medicine.” She also said that, alternatively, she could see herself taking up cinematography or script writing!

Again, the members chimed in and said that somehow they could imagine Hanni taking a course in filmmaking!

The host had to move on to other questions before the other members could answer, but it was an excellent opportunity for fans to get to know the genuine personalities of the members of NewJeans outside their lives as idols! Watch the full interview below. The girls talk about what they would have wanted to study in university at the 14:55 mark.
