PENTAGON’s Kino Recalls His Reaction After “Shine” Became Their First Song To Chart
As spring comes to an end, ASTRO‘s JinJin and PENTAGON‘s Kino recently discussed their memories of the season in the latest UNBOXING w/ JINJIN & KINO episode. In particular, they discussed significant events that happened in the month of May.
Kino recalled that May 1 was a particularly monumental day for him and PENTAGON because it was the day their 2018 track “Shine” charted in the top 100 of Melon’s daily chart and peaked at number 85.
It was the first time the group had a track reach such a high position. Kino explained that he was so shocked by the announcement that he thought it was April 1.
It was the fact that the group didn’t expect it that meant Kino believed that it was a joke!
I thought it was May fool’s day, not April fool’s day.
— PENTAGON’s Kino
Luckily for Kino, it wasn’t a joke! “Shine” has not only become one of the groups’ most popular songs but an iconic track in K-Pop!
