The five-member girl group debuted under H Music Entertainment on April 28 with the single album Things We Love : H. On its first day, the album started out with modest sales of 3,302 copies on the Hanteo chart. By the second day, that number had skyrocketed with an additional 14,747 sales.

Now, just five days after release, the album has already sold 58,142 copies. This is a remarkable achievement for any new group, but many are skeptical of how legitimate they are.

In particular, fans have pointed out the group’s album sales figures don’t align with HITGS’s other stats. So far, their title track “SOURPATCH” has only recorded 14,900 listens on Melon. Streaming stats on Spotify tell a similar story, with “SOURPATCH” gaining 68,600 listens globally since its release. The group currently has 13,976 monthly listeners and only 3,500 followers on the platform.

Moreover, given that HITGS is from a smaller agency, their sales are unusually high for a newly debuted group. H Music Entertainment’s established girl group, WOOAH, sold 23,627 copies in the first week with their most recent album Unframed last summer.

Fans have, however, noted that HITGS have scored notable promotional opportunities in their early days which may have contributed to their success. The group attended events like 2025 F/W Seoul Fashion Week, for example, even before their official debut. Days after their debut, H Music Entertainment also announced that HITGS has been selected as the new muse for global skincare brand MEDIPEEL.

Their sales achievement comes amid lingering concerns about the agency’s background. The company, previously known as SSQ Entertainment and NV Entertainment, recently saw its former CEO convicted of assaulting underage male idols with a metal clothing rack bar. This has left many K-Pop fans uneasy about the group, especially considering maknae Iyoo is just 15 years old.
