“Our Fans Transferred To BLACKPINK”—Sandara Park’s Honest Thoughts On 2NE1 Fans Switching Bias Groups
Sandara Park is the latest guest featured on BamHouse, the interview show hosted by GOT7‘s BamBam. Towards the end of the program, the latter brought up the possibility of a 2NE1 reunion. The former YG Entertainment girl group disbanded in 2016 after seven years in the industry.
He suggested that Sandara, as the oldest of the four members, could most easily push for a reunion.
You’re the eldest, right? You could make a group talk room and lead the reformation, I think it’ll be daebak.
— BamBam
He added that it would be a refreshing experience for the members and that BlackJacks would also find it memorable.
Wouldn’t it be fun? I don’t think your fans transferred.
— BamBam
Sandara disagreed with the latter comment. In her eyes, many of 2NE1’s original fans now support other groups.
There are also many fans who transferred.
— Sandara
In fact, she noticed that a large number of BlackJacks became BLINKs, the fans of BLACKPINK—the girl group who debuted after them in YG Entertainment.
A lot transferred to BLACKPINK.
— Sandara
Both groups have a “girl crush” concept that Sandara noticed her fans love. It did not surprise her, therefore, that they also liked BLACKPINK who shares a similar strong and confident style as 2NE1.
People who liked our style could transfer like that.
— Sandara
BamBam consoled her by saying that 2NE1’s fans will come back to them each time they return.
But my feels tells me that…since I also listen to past songs of 2NE1 sometimes…if 2NE1 comes back, regardless of fan transfer or vacancy of fan activity, and all other things, I think they will all comeback and gather up.
— BamBam
Sandara agreed, saying, “Right. I think that’s the power of a complete group.”
