In a recent interview, he revealed that this series refreshed him.

This project gave me much energy as it felt like they had gathered together a group of really talented actors. When I came on set, I didn’t have to think about anything else except having fun while acting. Results aside, I am really happy.

In particular, Son was satisfied with the scene filmed with actor Choi Hyun Wook.

I really fell for Hyun Wook. He is really young, but even while acting, I asked him, ‘How are you so good? How long have you been acting?’ It took me a long time to act naturally, but he did so well.

He continued to be in awe at how well these young actors were!

There are so many young actors who act as soldiers in this series. It’s amazing to see how they can act so well. I especially felt it while watching Hyun Wook. I think I acted while continuously being surprised by him. Hyun Wook said, ‘I was comfortable thanks to the seniors,’ but in fact, I received a lot of help from him. He showed various sides to his character, and it was amazing.

On the other hand, Son is busy with activities without a break after filming D.P, proving his popularity over the recent years.

In the past two years, I have never done one project at a time. You might think that I can’t concentrate by doing more than one project at a time, but I don’t think so. I think I focus better when I have multiple projects. The play I am doing is ending soon, so I will take a three-month break for the first time. My work is not mentally tough, but I think the time has come for be to take a break physically.
