Taiwanese Reporter Made From Artificial Intelligence Immediately Faces Sexualizing Comments

They were stunned by her beauty.

Even women made from artificial intelligence (AI) are not safe from being sexualized.

In July 2023, Taiwanese news network FTV debuted a new AI presenter for their weather segment. It was a two-minute report that showed the development team’s hard work from the last six months.

They used a more advanced technology than other AI models since it was able to effectively learn from past broadcasts to be as human-like as possible. The unnamed announcer received positive reviews from viewers who commented on how natural she was.

Normally, an AI generated video clip doesn’t feel like it’s a real person talking but she doesn’t give it away.

They loved how human-like her facial expressions were, saying that they did not even know that she wasn’t real.

  • “There were no glitches in her facial expressions. She’s actually quite realistic.”
  • “If you had not mentioned it, I wouldn’t think she’s AI.”

For every critical comment, however, was one that was more debased. Anonymous netizens on Facebook only focused on her appearance, emphasizing how beautiful they thought she was.

  • “The face is just waaaay too perfect.”
  • “She is stunning.”

Others even declared that they would have relations with her if it were possible.

  • “I would date this AI.”
  • “She looks beautiful. I want to marry her, everyone is invited to our Metaverse wedding.”

Despite the sketchy comments, viewers of FTV generally did not seem against them using the new AI model, with one saying, “As long as the reporting is factual and she can help the audience understand what the news is about, if what she’s saying is meaningful and broadens the audience’s perspective, then it doesn’t matter if she’s AI or a real person.”
