TWICE's Sana Goes Viral For Her On Stage Support Of Jeongyeon During A Tough Time

The group warmed fans’ hearts when they renewed their contracts last summer, and as they approach eight years as a group, they’re proving they’re not slowing down.

TWICE is preparing for their March 10 comeback, an appearance at the Billboard Women In Music event to accept their “Breakthrough” award, and their largest world tour yet, READY TO BE.

As they prepare for a busy year, they’ve amped up promotions, including interviews, photo shoots, and more.

In a recent interview with GQ Korea, member Jeongyeon opened up about her health conditions, including a herniated disc in her neck and mental health challenges.

The talented TWICE member has consistently proven her incredible professionalism by giving her all during every stage and knowing when to rest for the benefit of her health.

She credited her fellow members for helping to pull her out of a dark place, making ONCE emotional with their heartwarming bond.

After reading her emotional interview, netizens found touching moments shared between Sana and Jeongyeon during the group’s “Alcohol-Free” promotions in 2021.

Jeongyeon took a three-month hiatus at the end of 2020. She joined TWICE’s comeback for “Alcohol-Free,” which came out in June 2021. Shortly after, JYP Entertainment announced in August that Jeongyeon would be taking a temporary hiatus due to “experiencing panic and psychological anxiety.”

Jeongyeon later reflected on her hiatus and her first full promotional period after her return, sharing that she was “terribly nervous” to return to the stage.

This ‘Alcohol-Free’ was my comeback stage in a few months. It was like that, and I was terribly nervous. It made me feel as nervous as my debut stage.

In reviewing performances during their “Alcohol-Free” promotions, netizens found a sweet reassuring gesture Sana made towards Jeongyeon during each music show appearance that got progressively more noticeable each performance.

During part of the song’s choreography, Sana is meant to rest her arms flat on Jeongyeon’s raised hands.

As news of Jeongyeon’s health condition began to circulate, netizens noticed Sana sweetly squeezing Jeongyeon’s arm during TWICE’s Inkigayo performance.

During the group’s performance on Music Bank, Sana again supportively grasped Jeongyeon’s arm, and this time she grasped Sana’s arm back.

The altered choreography was again spotted during their Music Core performance…

… and during their final “Alcohol-Free” performance on Inkigayo, where they sweetly held hands.

Netizens also noticed Chaeyoung kindly smiling at the gesture and at Jeongyeon during their final stage.

Their heartfelt support touched the hearts of netizens and went viral on a popular Korean online community board as netizens celebrated the group’s friendship.
