Girls’ Generation‘s Yoona is one of the most popular idols to ever be named as a role model for their junior idols. So she was asked during an interview if she had anything to say to those who chose her as an idol, and the queen once again graced us with her wisdom.
Yoona first thanked everyone who chose her as a role model and expressed how she wants to meet them if she has the chance. She feels she’ll have lots to talk about and relate to with each other.
First, I’m so thankful that they think of me in that way.
Whenever I hear that someone chose me as their role model, I want to go meet them. It’s interesting that I became their idol. Maybe it’s because I also used to name my role models but I feel like we’ll have a lot in common.
But she also wants everyone to remember that she may seem like a special person since she’s a celebrity, but she’s just a normal human being.
I have a lot I want to say but… I may feel like someone who’s far out of reach or someone who lives a different life because I’m a celebrity. But I want to tell them I’m just a normal human being like everyone else.
But Yoona’s been around the industry since she was a young teen and reached incredible heights in her career as both an idol, actress, and TV personality.
And she has one advice to give to her juniors that look up to her: don’t think or worry too much.
Also, I hope they don’t think too deeply and too much about anything. Everyone will have their own concerns but nothing big like their worries is likely to actually occur.
But if you keep thinking about it, you’ll keep digging further, and I just want them to think less about their worries.
Yoona has been named a role model to some of the top up-and-coming idols, such as Red Velvet‘s Seulgi, ITZY‘s Chaeryeong, The Boyz‘s Haknyeon, IZ*ONE‘s Minjoo, EVERGLOW‘s Yiren, and so many more!
And let’s be real… who better to be your role model than the classy, beautiful, and talented Yoona?!
