Krystal’s Latest Move Sparks Rumors Of Coming Back As A Singer…And A Possible Collaboration With Min Hee Jin

Finally.

Krystal recently moved agencies, signing with BANA. The news came as a surprise, along with an unexpected song cover of “I’m Coming Back” by Lalah Hathaway.

As if the song’s title wasn’t hint enough, fans have also found interesting connections between BANA and Krystal’s history as a singer. BANA was founded by key members of SM Entertainment’s previous A&R team. This was the team that worked with Krystal during her time as part of f(x).

Famously, Min Hee Jin, who is now the CEO of ADOR, was once the creative director at SM Entertainment. She gave birth to Pink Tape, one of the most celebrated K-Pop albums to date. Pink Tape’s artistic value was unmatched, and it catapulted f(x) to the top.

It is said that Min Hee Jin has strong ties with BANA. As she has worked with the people at BANA since her time at SM Entertainment, she remains deeply connected to them. NewJeans’ producing is also handled in part by BANA. With a whole in-house producing team available at HYBE, Min Hee Jin’s choice to entrust her group to BANA shows the deep links between her and the company. Fans are excited that a move to BANA may mean that Krystal could work with Min Hee Jin once more in terms of creative direction. After all, Min Hee Jin once named Krystal as her muse.

Other fans on online communities have also speculated that it might have been difficult for Krystal to sign herself to a HYBE Label due to her history at SM Entertainment, a direct rival. Hence, BANA might have been the best choice for her. Fans are excited as a solo by Krystal, directed by Min Hee Jin, is something that they have been hoping for, for a long time.
