17-year-old idol Harada Mayu was a member of J-Pop group Keyakizaka46 for only a few months before a scandal hit.
She retired from the group only 3 months after her debut due to a controversy involving her former teacher.
Rumors broke out that she was in a relationship with her former teacher, a much older man.
Photos spread of the two hugging and kissing in a photobooth that were allegedly leaked by a former classmate of hers.
Not only did their relationship violate the dating ban placed on idols, it’s also illegal as Mayu is underage.
However, after many years, Mayu was able to return to the entertainment business and become a member of YURiMental who disbanded in 2022. She is now under talent management First Sound.
