BTS Isn’t About To Let Megan Thee Stallion Miss Out On The Credit She Deserves

“We make history together.”

We make history together; that’s the message BTS has put out into the universe, following a historic Billboard Chart win!

Today, Billboard crowned BTS’s “Butter” the No.1 song of the summer on the annual “Songs of the Summer” chart. After 14 weeks on the “Hot 100” chart, 10 of which were spent at No.1, “Butter” rose to the top spot again for the chart dated September 11th.

The Billboard Chart‘s announcement tweets did not, however, mention “Butter” collaborator Megan Thee Stallion. After dropping on August 27th, the BTS x Megan Thee Stallion remix brought “Butter” up to the No.1 spot again on the “Hot 100” chart.

Shortly after the announcement, “megan” began trending on Twitter as fans hyped Megan Thee Stallion, acknowledging her contribution. Many are planning to help the rapper gain more credit by purchasing and streaming the remix.

Big Hit Music‘s official BTS Twitter account, @bts_bighit, has included Megan Thee Stallion in the celebrations and thanked ARMY for helping BTS make history.

As fans have noted, changes are now in the process of being made on Billboard’s website to acknowledge Megan Thee Stallion and the “Butter” remix’s contributions to “Butter’s” overall success.

“Butter” returns to the top of the Hot 100 following the Aug. 27 release of its remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion. (The song continues to be credited solely to BTS on the Hot 100 and Digital Song Sales, as total activity for the original and other mixes solely by the group outpaced that of the new remix in overall metrics, including sales, during the tracking week; Megan Thee Stallion is credited this week on Streaming Songs, as her remix was the song’s most dominant version in streaming for the week.)
