BTS’s “PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE” Official Teaser Revisits “HYYH” Era, And ARMY Are Pointing Out Similarities

It definitely cannot be a coincidence.

On October 15, BTS released their teaser video for their upcoming concert PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE. If you weren’t excited already about it, you would be after watching the teaser.

Several moments throughout the video have reminded ARMY of one of the most beloved BTS eras of all time: HYYH (also known as Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa Trilogy or Series). The second era of BTS’s career, it is also known as the Youth or The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Trilogy/Series.

This era sparked a lot of ARMYs’ theories, thus producing the “BTS Universe.” Years later, it still has a lasting impact. Even in 2019, Webtoon Save Me was released, inspired by the BTS Universe.

While BTS’s latest releases, such as “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” don’t seem to have many connections to the BTS Universe, the teaser for their upcoming concert sure seems to connect.

At the beginning of the teaser, leader RM puts his lollipop in a cup. This mirrors the beginning of another BTS video: the “RUN” MV.

That wasn’t the only connection to “RUN” either. The party scene from the PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE teaser is reminiscent of the group’s partying scene from the “RUN” MV too.

So, of course, we can’t stop making connections between these two videos now.

It has us, along with the rest of ARMY, wondering what this means for the BTS Universe.

A lot of shots from the teaser scream the HYYH era, and we cannot help but think that it’s being brought back once again.

Just the overall production design feels all too familiar too…

We knew it couldn’t be the end of this iconic era just yet!

It certainly cannot be a coincidence either. Some ARMYs have reminded others that the BTS Universe era was actually set in… 2022. Well, well, well…

PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE was already preparing to be emotional for ARMY, but the return of HYYH is even more emotional.
