These Fourth-Generation Idols Will Be Sitting Out The CSAT This Year

Some are confirmed by their agencies while others are reported by the media.

The College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) is a standardized test that measures the educational eligibility of high school graduates in South Korea for the purpose of university admission. The exam is conducted by the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE) on the third Thursday of November.

CSAT is considered to be one of the most important educational milestones that decide the future of young students. But there are many notable celebrities who never actually sat for the exam and still excelled at their career. Some of those names include Jungkook from BTS, Bae Suzy, and IU.

The 2023 CSAT is scheduled to be held on November 17. Many fresh faces of K-Pop are eligible to sit for the exam, but here are the idols who have announced that they will be skipping it:

1. ENHYPEN’s Jungwon

Jungwon is currently enrolled in Hanlim Art School’s Applied Music department. According to reports by the local media, the idol will not be taking the CSATs this year. This year, ENHYPEN has released a Korean EP, MANIFESTO DAY: 1, and a Japanese album, SADAME.

2. NewJeans’ Minji

NewJeans’ agency ADOR made an official announcement stating that Minji will be skipping the CSATs this year. This 18-year-old idol just made her debut this year. The group released its eponymous EP in July this year and is currently preparing for its first comeback with the single “OMG.”

3. IVE’s Wonyoung

Starship Entertainment, the agency of IVE, recently announced that Wonyoung will not be taking the CSATs this year. The idol is currently enrolled at Seoul Performing Arts High School. At just 18 years of age, she has managed to become a top celebrity in the country, and her focus is primarily on the entertainment industry, which is why she will be opting out of the test this year.

4. IVE’s Liz

Just like her group-mate Wonyoung, Liz too was officially announced to be opting out of taking the CSAT this year. As a part of one of the most prominent rookies in K-Pop today, her focus, too, is concentrated on her flourishing entertainment career right now.

5. STAYC’s J

According to media reports, STAYC member J will be sitting out the CSAT this year to focus on her career. Earlier this year, the group released its comeback EP YOUNG-LUV.COM and is currently gearing up for its Japanese debut single “POPPY.”

6. STAYC’s Yoon

Along with J, Yoon too will be skipping the CSAT this year to focus on her idol activities.
