Big Naughty Apologizes For His “2022 Melon Music Awards” Performance After Receiving “Death Threats”

While many fans loved the interaction, Big Naughty recently apologized for giving Chaewon the flower.
In a “Look Me Up” video for 1theK Originals, Big Naughty watched some viral moments from his performances. Including his 2022 Melon Music Awards performance, which he claimed was a must-watch because it is “a video which made me get a death threat for the first time in [his] life.”
Big Naughty explained that sitting down next to Chaewon was all a planned part of the performance.
But he regrets having taken a selfie with all the K-Pop artists since “people really resented [him] for that scene.”
The backlash he faced for his interaction with idols has warned him to “never again go near other K-Pop artists.”
Big Naughty even read one of the disturbing comments left on the video. Explaining that he “received so many messages like that in direct messaging.”
And when he got to the part of the video where he gave Chaewon flowers, Big Naughty immediately apologized to viewers.
Although giving the flowers wasn’t initially part of the performance, the producer suggested that Big Naughty give the flowers “to those sitting in the front.”
So Big Naughty didn’t choose Chaewon himself; it was actually the producer’s suggestion.
But even though Big Naughty emphasized that he wouldn’t have intentionally given the flowers to Chaewon, he apologized again.
Multiple fans rushed to Big Naughty’s defense, wondering why fans feel the need to hate on celebrities for interactions.
Netizen comment: The segment when he talked about receiving hate for his actions during the Melon award made me so sad because he did nothing wrong. As both a kpop and khh/krnb fan, I don’t understand why some fans alwalys have to make them uncomfortable about having interactions with each other. As long as he is kind and polite, as I’m sure he is, he can talk to whoever he wants and shouldn’t have to fear the fans…
To whoever sent death treath and hate comment to big naughty, u should apologize. He did nothing wrong, especially with his performance in that award. Some kpop stan should know that it was a part of performance. Look what u did, he didn't even dare to stand next to idols
