HYBE Donates Generous Relief Support For Victims In Turkey And Syria

The label’s proactiveness is earning praise on social media.

HYBE, the parent company of artists like BTS, SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans, is currently receiving widespread attention for its contribution towards relief efforts to help earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

After two major earthquakes hit the countries on February 6, over 33,000 lives have been lost, with more people injured. South Korean government extended its support to the nations by sending relief teams and donations. And it turns out the Korean entertainment industry has also joined in the efforts.

On February 13, several Korean media outlets reported that HYBE donated ₩500 million KRW (about $394,000 USD) to Save the Children, an international NGO that works with children, to support the ongoing relief efforts in Turkey and Syria. According to the organization, the donation will be used to provide necessary supplies for kids, such as blankets, clothing, water, food, medical supplies, and sanitary kits. The money will also go into making temporary shelters for child protection.

Since we’re a company that has grown with interest and affection for the entertainment industry sent from all over the world, we have come to join relief activities to help support the rapid recovery of the affected areas that people around the world desire.

Netizens are appreciative of the company for not only making such a generous donation to a good cause but also for doing it discreetly. The public got the information only after Save The Children reported it.

HYBE is not the only K-Pop label to donate to the cause. SM Entertainment has also reportedly donated ₩200 million KRW (about $158,000 USD) to Hope Bridge, a disaster relief organization in Korea that is helping victims in Turkey and Syria.

We express our condolences to all of those who lost their family and home in an instant…SM wants to be with them on their way to overcome the damage.
