Like their other releases, LE SSERAFIM have also used concept videos or trailers to build excitement for their comeback. This includes one titled “Hot Fire,” the first shared for this comeback cycle.
However, after its release, the group has faced plagiarism accusations online over portions of the video found to resemble a video released by the fashion label Mugler. The video features model Anok Yai and is advertising a fragrance released by the brand.
A netizen compared clips of the two videos side-by-side, pointing out the similarities between the two, sparking accusations of plagiarism that have since gone viral.
they lowkey want Anok Yai’s nachos… https://t.co/EM1lnPM8qp pic.twitter.com/uBTMDah3KR

Fans quickly came to the group’s defense, pointing out that the viral clip was pieced together from the trailer to make it appears as if the sequence had been copied frame by frame.
Is the "copying the sequence frame by frame" in the room with us? Do yall really have to edit clips to incriminate le sserafim
because you have nothing on them? pic.twitter.com/F15fAC4A35 https://t.co/24tlg8vcui— 🌡️ (@1800hotandfim) February 23, 2025

you watched the complete teaser of a group you don't like, saved it, went on to open capcut and cut out different parts and merge them together to brand lsf with a plagiarism tag… what's a better way to announce to the world you don't have a jobpic.twitter.com/rKBG66cL0H https://t.co/vggpc03CQc

Still, some netizens claimed out that even if the clips were split up differently in the video, the similarities were too close.
their editors thinking they're smart after copying frame by frame then cutting and placing the clips separate to not get accused of plagiarism LMAO https://t.co/hTyYPAvPCp pic.twitter.com/fObv6eL56H
