On February 25, KST, NJZ’s Instagram account posted what looked like concept photos featuring all five members in differently styled tuxedo suits and formalwear.

While these pictures raised the curiosity of fans, what really sealed the deal further was director Shin Wooseok‘s Instagram stories. Shin, the head of Dolphiners Films, worked with the NJZ members for their iconic music videos such as “Ditto,” “ETA,” and “OMG.”

Shin posted two stories that netizens felt were connected to the NJZ photoshoot. The first picture was of actor Keanu Reeves from his movie, John Wick 2, and the second one was of Robert De Niro from Heat.

The two photos and the pictures posted by NJZ, all seemed to be hinting toward a similar concept through the inclusion of some common details. Both the actors in Shin’s story were sporting formal suits, just as the girls were. But a bigger hint seemingly lied in the common motif of the telephone, that appeared in both Reeves and De Niro’s pictures, while NJZ’s photoshoot was posted with a caption containing the telephone emoji.

Needless to say, netizens are pretty pumped up about the possibilities, even though nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

  • “I didn’t want to expect anything, but I’m already doing it. Insane.”
  • “Please come fast.”
  • “Whoa, what is this?”
  • “Whatever it is, bring it on!”
  • “So you’re telling me that they didn’t use the black emoji simply because the ‘Seasons Greetings’ theme is black suits? Can I really get my hopes up?”
