First Look: YoonA’s Upcoming K-Drama Reveals New Male Lead After Troubled “The Glory” Actor Park Sung Hoon Steps Down
When The Glory and Squid Game Season 2 star Park Sung Hoon shared a pornographic image via his Instagram Stories, the backlash he received was so fierce that it eventually cost him his next tvN K-Drama role.

Then, in February 2025, actor Lee Chae Min was reported to have accepted the male lead role for The Tyrant’s Chef—the story of a French chef who travels back in time to the past, where she crosses paths with a tyrannical king (based on Prince Yeonsan of Joseon) who also happens to be a passionate foodie.

And as of March 5, Studio Dragon has given K-Drama fans a sneak peek of the new leads’ chemistry in a clip promoting their upcoming releases.

At the end of the clip, it shows YoonA (Lim Yoona) in a chef’s uniform and Lee Chae Min in a traditional Korean hanbok. While the photos seem to be taken separately, they provided visualization of the leads—especially in comparison to the Naver web novel original.

K-Drama fans see the new male lead as a better fit for the show and for YoonA, too.

Previously, YoonA’s age gap with Lee Chae Min sparked some debate, though the newly-revealed photo seems to have since quieted the concerns.

- “Well cast! Is the original web novel any good?”
- “I’m looking forward to this. I hope the K-Drama version ends up good.”
- “He’s such a better fit! The age gap doesn’t seem to be an issue, either.”
- “Whoa, the visual chemistry is off the charts!”
- “They both look exactly like the illustrations.”
- “Great visuals, that’s for sure.”
- “He’s a much better fit for the role.”
