Idol-Turned-Actress Goes Through Massive Weight Gain—Only To Lose It All In 2 Weeks
In the latest episode of KBS‘s Problem Child In House, Apink member and actress Jung Eunji guested to talk about her new K-Drama, Pump Up The Healthy Love (also known as 24-Hour Fitness Club), and the dramatic transformation she underwent for her role as a newbie lifter.

Given Lee Mi Ran, the idol-turned-actress’s character in Pump Up The Healthy Love, is someone signing up to work out for the first time, Jung Eunji revealed that she gained a whopping 20 pounds (9 kilograms) to fit the role. Explaining it was a choice made to better portray her character, she said she kept eating at late-night hours.

From episode one through several episodes, I appear at the weight I gained…I made sure to eat late-night snacks no matter what.
— Jung Eunji
While she kept the “snacking” to chicken breast, knowing she would have to lose it later, Jung Eunji noted how difficult it was to shed the pounds she intentionally put on. After a month and a half of weight gain, the idol-turned-actress lost it all in just two weeks!
Yang Se Chan: Was it the first time ever since your debut to reach that weight?!
Jung Eunji: Yes, it was. It was like bulking and gaining a lot of fat. Losing it was really difficult.
Kim Sook: How long did it take you to gain the 20 pounds and then lose it?
Jung Eunji: It took about a month and a half to gain, and then I lost it in just two weeks.
When the show hosts asked her secret to losing weight, Jung Eunji said she did cardio workouts three times a day. She focused on running and cycling, and also strictly controlled her diet. After 6PM, she barely ate anything and stuck to a mostly vegetable-based meal plan.

Dramatic measures for a dramatic transformation, indeed!
