The BTS member is currently on his Hope on the Stage Tour, and his latest stop was Jakarta, Indonesia. While performing his set on this tour, J-Hope did a special segment during the song “Equal Sign,” where he approached the audience and interacted with fans up close.

On May 3, the first of the two days of the tour’s Jakarta dates, J-Hope was unfortunately grabbed by an audience member during the particular segment. Fan-taken videos showed the rapper approaching the front row audience members before the song started. While most stayed respectful, one fan latched onto his hand, refusing to let go.

While J-Hope tried to release his arm and move on playfully, the fan kept grabbing on, making it impossible for him to leave. The rapper appeared increasingly uncomfortable, and his next few attempts to free his arm were met with the fan yanking his forearm with all her might.

As the videos of this incident spread on X (former Twitter), ARMYs became furious, calling out the particular fan for crossing the line. Many Indonesian fans, embarrassed at this disrespectful behavior, clarified that the individual was a foreigner. Some were also enraged that her actions could potentially ruin this experience for all fans in the future. Others emphasized that, regardless of nationality, fans across the board needed to do better in terms of concert etiquette.
