Sasaengs Tresspass Into ENHYPEN’s Dorm To Film Them, Fans Furious
HYBE Labels has released an official legal notice following a recent incident involving the illegal trespassing of ENHYPEN’s dormitory by so-called “sasaeng” fans — obsessive individuals who stalk idols and violate their privacy in extreme ways. According to the statement, unauthorized individuals entered the group’s private residence and attempted to secretly film the members. HYBE confirmed that they immediately reported the incident to the police on grounds of illegal trespassing and violations under the Stalking Punishment Act. The perpetrators were arrested on site and are currently under investigation. The company also assured the public that it is actively cooperating with law enforcement to ensure that the individuals involved face legal consequences.
HYBE emphasized the seriousness of the situation and reiterated its commitment to protecting its artists.
“1. Legal Action Regarding Stalking, Invasion of Privacy, and Acts Threatening the Safety of Artists
Recently, a serious case of stalking occurred in which individuals unlawfully entered an artist’s residence and illegally filmed the artist. Recognizing the severity of the situation, we immediately reported the suspects to the police at the scene for violations such as housebreaking and stalking crimes. The suspects were arrested on the spot and are currently under police investigation. We are actively cooperating with the investigation process to ensure that the suspects are appropriately punished in accordance with the relevant laws.
Additionally, we have identified numerous posts involving the illegal acquisition or fabrication and sale of artists’ personal information. For example, we are currently taking strong legal action, including reporting accounts to Chinese authorities, that are selling artists’ personal information online.”
The company further revealed that it is monitoring and responding to the illegal trade of artists’ personal information. This includes posts and accounts engaged in obtaining or fabricating private data and selling it online — especially on foreign platforms.
