IVE member Wonyoung is no stranger to being in the limelight for her fashion and beauty. But recently, the idol made headlines for the unexpected origin of one of her staple accessories.

Wonyoung, who has practically grown up in the public eye since she was 14, has often been spotted wearing a particular necklace, especially with her casual, self-styled outfits when she is not on any official schedule.

The necklace in question is a red clover-shaped pendant with a gold chain. She was most recently spotted wearing it at Gimpo airport while traveling overseas for work.

Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that this piece of jewelry was the “Vintage Alhgmbra” pendant by Vam Cleef & Arpels.

But  the reason why this pendant has made headlines is because of its origin. According to reports, Wonyoung didn’t purchase it for herself. It was gifted to her by a fan when she was a member of IZ*ONE!

The pendant, made with 18k yellow gold and carnelian, retails for about ₩2.80 million KRW (about $2,030 USD), making it an extraordinarily luxurious gift.

Many netizens were moved that Wonyoung has kept the fan-gifted necklace with her for so long. However, some also felt that it was an extravagant move on the fan’s part and criticized them for splurging unnecessarily.
