Sex-Focused K-Drama’s “Disturbing” Depiction Of Student-Teacher Relationship Goes Wildly Viral
The newest short K-Drama series, S-line, officially began airing on July 11. The series previously premiered at the 8th Cannes International Series Festival earlier this year, and features an all-star cast.
Based on a webtoon, the series follows four individuals: detective Ji Wook (Lee Soo Hyuk), homeroom teacher Gyu Jin (Lee Da Hee), Hyun Heup (Oh My Girl’s Arin), and Sun Ah (Lee Eun Saem). In this world, connections between individuals who have had sex appear as red lines to some individuals, causing drama to unfold around them.

Characters can see these lines with a pair of glasses, which gives them insight into different characters’ lives.

A specific scene from the episode’s second drama recently went viral on social media.
In the second episode, after Sun Ah finds the glasses and figures out their power, she sees her school bully’s connections, including one that has an end somewhere inside the school. Upon following the string, she discovers it is connected to one of the high school’s teachers.
Later, Sun Ah observes the two together outside of school, snapping a photo of the two acting affectionately before entering a hotel.
This clip was reposted on TikTok, where it has over 6 million views. Commenters expressed interest in the series, though some found the specific relationship uncomfortable.
