Rising K-drama star Roh Jeong Eui is speaking out about her past comments on weight loss — and the regret she feels over revealing her extremely low body weight to the public. In a recent interview, she reflected on the intense attention she received after going viral for her drastic transformation. Known for her role as the bubbly teenager in 18 Again, Roh shocked viewers when she reappeared in Our Beloved Summer as the glamorous pop star NJ — having reportedly lost around 7kg (15.4 lbs) between the two dramas. Standing at 165 cm and weighing 39 kg at the time, Roh’s physical stats became a hot topic online. But the actress now admits she regrets ever disclosing those numbers.

“I felt very regretful reading the articles,” she said. “I’m afraid young people might go on unhealthy diets during their growth period.”

Roh emphasized that while her weight loss was achieved through consistent diet and exercise, she worried it may have sent the wrong message to fans — especially teenagers who look up to her. She expressed that her intention was never to promote extreme weight loss as an ideal.

“It seemed like I had done something wrong — like I was pressuring younger kids to look a certain way. Now, I eat well, I work out regularly, and my body has changed a lot.”

Currently, the actress follows a rigorous fitness routine that includes flying yoga, pilates, and strength training — all of which she genuinely enjoys for both health and stress relief. She clarified that her weight is no longer in the 30kg range and that her focus has shifted to building strength and stamina, especially for demanding filming schedules.

“You’re already beautiful enough. Exercise to feel healthier — not just to lose weight.”
