Zhoumi has been active under SM Entertainment in both South Korea and China. He made his debut in 2008 as a member of Super Junior-MSuper Junior‘s Chinese subunit. He has also participated in SM’s project group, SM the Ballad, and released his first solo mini album, Rewind, in 2014.

Over the years, Zhoumi has taken on a wide range of roles, from singer to variety show host and actor. In 2016, SM even established “Zhoumi Studio” as its official management team for his Chinese promotions.

Despite this background, the alleged appointment has raised concerns and criticism from many fans who question both the decision and Zhoumi’s qualifications for such a high-level role.

This is a director position for the Chinese market, but did he even do anything for the industry?

Does he have dirt on their senior management?

He got plastic surgery to look like Kangta, and he even managed to be a director like Kangta. If SM doesn’t want to give Leeteuk the director position no matter what, give it to Siwon. He looks like Kangta too, and he’s all natural~

One of the most discussed points is why long-time SM artist and Super Junior leader Leeteuk was not selected instead, with fans citing his decades of dedication to the agency.

Why did they give it to him, not Leeteuk…

What’s the problem with you, SM? Leeteuk worked so hard for you for 20 plus years. He gave it his all for your artists. At the end, you made someone else a director. I don’t even have a single clue as to what this person has done to contribute to the agency.

As of now, SM Entertainment has yet to release an official statement confirming Zhoumi’s new position or addressing the backlash.
