Korean Celebrity Accused Of Offering Hush Money To Ex-Girlfriend Ahead Of Wedding

She thinks he cheated.

A shocking post has surfaced online, accusing a Korean male celebrity of offering hush money to his ex-girlfriend ahead of his upcoming wedding.

On July 28, a post titled “My ex-boyfriend’s agency sent me ₩8.00 million KRW (about $5,750 USD)” was uploaded to the anonymous office worker community, Blind. According to the author, referred to as “A,” they were contacted by someone from the celebrity’s agency offering ₩8.00 million KRW (about $5,750 USD) as a “preemptive consolation payment.”

“They said he’s going to appear on a variety show within the next six months to reveal his wedding preparations with his new girlfriend. They added that the timeline might not look right and asked me not to say anything. When I asked what they meant, they admitted it could seem like he was still dating me during that period. So basically, he left me for her—or he cheated.”

A also claimed the agency asked her not to bring it up publicly, arguing that she had not planned on getting married to him.

“Whether we broke up or didn’t get married, that’s between the two of us. But turns out he was two-timing, and now they want to silence me with ₩8.00 million KRW (about $5,750 USD)? Isn’t it my right to refuse the money?”

Though the identity of the celebrity in question has not been confirmed, online speculation is running wild over who he could be and which variety show he’s set to appear on. Many netizens have expressed concern that innocent celebrities could be wrongly targeted amid the rumors.
