Starship Entertainment Slammed For Using A Derogatory Meme Of ALLDAY PROJECT’s Annie
Before ALLDAY PROJECT made their debut, Annie gave an interview about her debut process. During the interview, she mixed both Korean and English, resulting in netizens creating a meme. Her phrase “jeoldae no” quickly spread like wildfire online.
While some thought it was simply a trendy line, it actually became a derogatory meme that netizens used to mock Annie with.

- Am I the only one who saw it as a derogatory meme? It’s basically like how Jang Wonyoung eating strawberries with both hands was not an issue but she became mocked and criticized for it, with people parodying it. It’s only right that people avoid using it. I hate Starship.
- I hate those who ask why its derogatory. It became a meme alongside negative talks, so of course it’s derogatory. Don’t speak on it if you don’t know.
The issue came when Starship Entertainment used it in their caption to promote KiiiKiii‘s “DANCING ALONE.”

It’s lonely dancing alone? Jeoldae NO. It’s not lonely if you have KiiiKiii’s “DANCING ALONE” with you.

After negative backlash, they edited their caption to remove it.

Many lashed out at Starship Entertainment for their lack of thinking.

- Fake-ship Entertainment, are you sure you even want to be in this business?
- This is crossing the line… I can never look at them positively.
Starship Entertainment has not yet released any official statement regarding the matter.
