NJZ (NewJeans) And ADOR’s Negotiations Fall Through
The legal battle between NJZ (NewJeans) and ADOR failed to reach an amicable conclusion despite long mediations on August 14, KST.

On this day, NJZ members Danielle and Minji showed up at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to attend a mediation hearing in the lawsuit filed by ADOR against them.

Before entering the courtroom, the two idols only offered a brief apology to reporters, saying, “We’re sorry.” The mediation lasted about an hour and twenty minutes, but ended without the two parties being able to come to any amicable agreement.

However, there still might be a scope for this legal conflict to reach a conclusion through mutual agreements since a follow-up mediation has been scheduled for September 11, KST. According to reports, if the second mediation also falls through, the court will give its final verdict on October 30, KST.
These mediation sessions are a part of an ongoing legal dispute that began earlier this year, when tensions between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and parent company HYBE escalated into a high-profile feud. HYBE, which owns an 80% stake in ADOR, accused Min of attempting to seize management control, while Min alleged that HYBE was interfering with ADOR’s creative independence and the management of NJZ. The conflict quickly spilled into the public sphere, with both sides issuing statements and filing legal actions. The final verdict will determine if the validity of ADOR’s exclusive contracts with NJZ is still legally binding and, hence, fundamentally decide the group’s future.
