Stray Kids’ Bangchan Cracks Down Heavily On Users Posting Deepfake Videos
Stray Kids leader Bangchan has announced legal action against users who posted deepfake videos of him on social media.

According to reports, on September 5, a federal judge in California, US, approved his request, allowing him to ask X (former Twitter) to provide basic information about accounts that uploaded deepfake videos of him involving explicit and racist content. He had submitted the application on September 1, 2025, and got the ruling rather quickly. His application was approved along with that of his groupmate Felix, who had also filed a similar request on September 3, 2025.
Court records specified two X accounts that used AI technology to superimpose Bangchan’s face onto clips that falsely portrayed him saying racist and obscene things. Bangchan quickly renounced the videos and stated that the posts had caused him significant stress and hurt.

The court ruling empowers Bangchan to now seek the necessary data from X to identify these specific accounts, including their sign-up email, registered phone number, and login IP records. With this data, his civil lawsuit regarding this matter at the Seoul Eastern District Court will be able to progress.
Felix, on the other hand, is pursuing a separate case against different anonymous users.
Notably, Bangchan’s legal representative for this case is attorney Jeong Kyung Seok, who previously tracked down the infamous YouTube creator, Sojang. You can read more about it here:
