Yoo Jae Suk’s Latest Money Move Sparks Speculations About His “Next Career”
What will TV star Yoo Jae Suk be doing with the two plots of land in Seoul that he bought two years ago? His latest money move has netizens speculating.
An exclusive report from Money Today confirmed that Yoo Jae Suk is constructing a new building on the Nonhyun-dong land, located directly across from the headquarters of his management agency, Antenna. The TV star even took out a loan of nearly ₩8.00 billion KRW (about $5.74 million USD), using the land as collateral to cover construction costs.
According to property registry records and building permit statistics reviewed by Money Today, Yoo Jae Suk’s new structure will have three basement levels and four above-ground floors. Construction began in May of last year and is scheduled for completion in February of next year. Since the building has been registered as a “neighborhood living facility,” it is expected to be used as an office headquarters or rental business. Yoo Jae Suk also registered a real estate business under the name JS607 in November 2023.
Based on the “neighborhood living facility” registration, Koreans are now speculating that Yoo Jae Suk might be investing in expanding his career. Some even playfully suggested that he should open a cafe, invite people to chat with him, and turn the conversations into YouTube content—something that he already does best.

Yoo Jae Suk purchased the two parcels of land in June 2023 for ₩19.8 billion KRW (about $14.2 million USD). Since no mortgage was registered at the time, it is presumed he bought them entirely with cash. One of the two sites housed a four-story multi-family residential building completed in 2002. Yoo Jae Suk evicted all tenants, had the structure demolished, and merged the two plots to build this new property.
Yoo Jae Suk had long kept his distance from real estate investment. In fact, in a previous You Quiz On The Block episode that aired in 2020, the TV star said, “I do a little bit of stock trading so I know about that, but I don’t invest in real estate because I don’t really know much about it.” But these recent investments into buildings and lands mark a drastic shift.
