With the tenth anniversary of the beloved K-Drama, Reply 1988, approaching soon, there is significant public interest around the possibility of a reunion between Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol.
According to a MyDaily report on September 16, KST, more than ten members of the Reply 1988 cast will gather for a special trip to Gangwon-do on October 12 and 13 to commemorate the show’s tenth anniversary. This reunion trip will be filmed as part of Na Young Seok PD’s variety show content, Egg Is Coming.
Ever since the reunion was confirmed, netizens have been curious whether the two main cast members and feuding exes Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol would be attending. The two, who had a very public fallout after their breakup in 2023, have not been seen together ever since.
With the date of the trip fast approaching, both actors have finally put the questions to rest and stated their stance. Hyeri’s agency has reportedly confirmed that she plans to attend the trip with the rest of her castmates. However, Ryu Jun Yeol will be sitting it out. According to his agency, the reunion date clashed with his filming schedule for The Rat, an upcoming K-Drama.
Despite the absence of Ryu Jun Yeol at the reunion, it is likely that there would be mentions of him on camera, given that he played one of the lead characters on Reply 1988. It remains to be seen how Hyeri would handle such situations, given that in the past she has tried to avoid addressing anything related to Ryu.
