aespa’s Giselle Reveals Hard-Hitting Thoughts About Parasocial Relationship Between Fans And Idols
aespa’s Giselle recently opened up to fans on Bubble, sparking discussions about the nature of idol-fan connections and what it really means to stay close over time.
In a series of heartfelt messages, Giselle shared her struggles with jetlag and reflected on how fans often “romanticize” certain years, like 2016. She admitted she has felt the same way, expressing both happiness and sadness at how time can’t be turned back.
“so hi its 7am basically been awaKe since like 3 i could not fight the jetlag this time i been online alot these days i seen people romanticizing 2016 and i just wanted to say i been like that literally just like since 2016 so makes me happy and sad at the same time lol cuz we cant turn back time and it got me thinKing i wonder in this generation which era or which year you guys would romanticize like 10 years from now i hope we’re a part of it thas all 😙 its all gonna be a memory u know what i mean so i hope its a memory you guys will remember and think about often ,, and for that to happen i feel like we should be more in touch w each other so im tryna think of ways that we can do that. cuz its not that easy to rlly rlly be in touch w u guys like actually be in touch… in this genre that we’re in u know? And its not a bad thing or whatever, its just something i been thinking about for a while tho. i dont want u to think like,, if we dont communicate for a couple days that im not thinKing of u guys or liKe not doing things for you guys. but thats the hard part and liKe trust i guess we have to build— even when its been roughly 5 years like things are always changing too so.”

She went on to address the deeper side of her relationship with fans. Giselle reassured them that even if she doesn’t communicate every single day, it doesn’t mean she isn’t thinking of them. When fans doubted her Giselle emphasized that their bond is more than just casual interactions, saying she takes those moments with her when she goes home, adding that idols and fans don’t need to know every detail about each other’s lives to form a real connection.
“nah, nah just idol and fan is different ho. do you really think that? i think the interactions we have together can be more than just that, like i take it with me when i go home too its not just ok work on work off i dont think we need to know every single thing about each other or spend everyday together to have a real connection. I just wanna be there for u i think we’re always together. I really do believe in myself but i want to be real so you guys see everything. Thats all. Just wanted to let you know like a reminder that im thinking about u and am always working on stuff for you.”
Her candid words struck a chord with many, as she concluded with a simple but impactful reminder: “I think we’re always together.”
