It was revealed that Jin’s appearance at Incheon Airport on September 21 was the idol’s departure for Milan Fashion Week to attend the Gucci show.

While BTS has had awful and dangerous experiences at the airport, when Jin arrived in Milan he was met with the “Purple Ribbon” project which was created in 2018, using purple ribbons to protect BTS by keeping fans in certain areas so they aren’t mobbed.

Netizens praised that Jin’s personal space was being respected.

Yet, while many fans praised the project being brought back, some hit back that it shouldn’t have been necessary if ARMYs just stayed at home. In particular, HYBE has shared guidance about not attending private schedules of the members, including at the airport, so many thought it was just performative and if they wanted to protect the members, they wouldn’t have gone at all.

The purple ribbon project was created to protect BTS, but many think that has to be done by listening to the rules and regulations put in place.
