While ARMYs were thoroughly amused by this random “side quest,” they also appreciated the fact that the numerous pictures and clips taken of Suga at the marathon were not released to the public until the BTS members themselves revealed them to fans first.

As more and more footage of the BTS rapper from this run started surfacing online, one specific clip has brought him some significant backlash. In the video, Suga can be seen standing at the front of the line, waiting for the run to commence, when a runner standing beside him taps him on the shoulder and says something while pointing toward the back. Another runner beside him was also seen pointing at the same direction while Suga walked to the side.

While it is not fully clear what actually happened in the moment captured in the clip, many netizens perceived it as Suga attempting to cut the line and being told off by the other runners. As such takes went viral on X (formerly Twitter), they invited further ridicule and insults for the rapper.

However, fans defended the idol, arguing that the clip was being taken out of context simply to subject Suga to mindless hate.
