Chaeyoung Confesses She Almost Quit TWICE During Their Explosive Popularity
TWICE member Chaeyoung recently opened up about the difficulty she faced while her group was delivering mega hits, one after another.

Chaeyoung recently appeared on a podcast on the SPNS TV YouTube channel and talked in depth about her journey as an artist.

When the topic shifted to handling fame at a young age, Chaeyoung recalled that she routinely slept for just half an hour every day when the group was very busy as rookies. This apparently continued for at least a month. “If I slept a lot, it was like two or three hours,” she confessed.

Later, she admitted that not being able to sleep was one of the hardest parts of her idol career. Especially during the “Cheer Up” and “TT” era, she was the busiest, because she was also attending school while doing the promotional activities. “That was the hardest for me,” she recalled.

The lack of sleep was so severe that during this time, Chaeyoung seriously considered quitting her idol career. “I was like, ‘I can’t do this,’” she admitted.

This decision led to many fights with her mother as well, and eventually, she was convinced by her to keep pushing. “My mom said, ‘Isn’t it a waste that you trained so hard for three and a half years and now you’re not even doing anything?’” she recalled. Chaeyoung admitted that her mother’s words led her to ask herself if she wouldn’t regret quitting later and reconsider the decision.
Back in early days, Chaeyoung had to juggle school with TWICE promotion activites. Cheer Up and TT was the busiest and the toughest time for her, she even thought of quitting cause she felt like she couldn't do this (being in TWICE) anymore.
