Released in August, the music video, titled “Damdadi,” marked the debut of R.Tee, a popular producer-turned-singer. Soyeon was a featuring artist on the track and acted in the music video. It was only recently that some viewers noticed the huge similarities between “Damdadi” and Yseult’s “B*** YOU COULD NEVER,” and called it out online. Soon, the artist herself took note and confronted everyone involved in the project, including Soyeon.

A few days later, Hong Minho, the music video’s director released a statement regarding the allegations, claiming he was “inspired” by Yseult’s video.

The issue has spread to Korea as well, with many domestic viewers scathingly criticizing the K-Pop music video’s makers.

  • “Minho, just retire. How can you blatantly copy like that and still make a living with videos? Tsk tsk.”
  • “They probably played the music video on set while filming.”

Amid this turmoil, the production company, Achilles Film, appears to have completely vanished from online spaces. Both the Instagram accounts of the company, as well as Hong Minho, are unavailable on the platform. Yseult has also taken note of this and informed fans that she is preparing for a legal fight against the entities.
