Popular K-Drama Actor Sentenced To Jail Again After Release

He’s a repeat offender.

An actor in his 30s, identified only as “A,” who was previously arrested and released for drug use, has now been sentenced to prison for repeating the same offense.

On October 16, 2025, Judge Moon Jong Chul of the Incheon District Court’s Criminal Division 7 sentenced A to two years in prison and ordered 120 hours of a drug addiction treatment program for violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances) and obstructing official duties.

According to the verdict, between March 2 and May 22, A purchased 20 grams of ketamine worth around ₩9.78 million KRW (about $6,880 USD) and used it six times.

Notably, in March, he had already been fined ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,520 USD) for a previous drug-related offense but continued to use drugs. Shockingly, after being released following a police investigation, he used drugs again on the very same day, leading to another arrest on the spot.

During an April 22 raid, A also resisted police officers, refusing to hand over his phone and engaging in a physical altercation that left one officer’s shirt torn, necklace broken, and neck scratched — resulting in an additional charge of obstruction of justice.

The court stated that “even after his detention warrant was dismissed, the defendant continued to purchase and use drugs, showing severe addiction and a high risk of relapse,” emphasizing that a substantial prison sentence was necessary. However, the judge also considered that A showed remorse and paid a settlement to the injured police officer, which slightly mitigated his sentence.
