Popular HYBE Idol’s “Thong” Outfit Sparks Major Controversy
KATSEYE Lara‘s recent sexy outfit has been hit with backlash from fans.

Lara recently shared photos of her Indian lehenga outfit that she wore to celebrate the festival of Diwali. While the style was traditional, the outfit had unique touches that made it suit Lara’s personality and style, including the low waist of the skirt and the sparkly, more bra-like top being used as a blouse.

Yet, it sparked major criticism from some netizens, with some thinking the outfit itself just didn’t look nice and others explaining how it strayed so far from traditional, including the sexier alterations.
Unzipping the lehenga just to show that tiny string of underwear… a mess

Lara, if you’re wearing a lehenga then wear it properly, girl 😭 The thong’s peeking and the lehenga’s unbuttoned before anyone says I’m hating or “it’s just her style,” y’all better stop 💀 https://t.co/EQWisKNO62

since deepavali has passed i just want to say that lara's outfit is mid. listen .. wear the sexiest blouse ever but zipping your skirt down to show your thong looks very trashy. you can wear ethnic wear in a sexy way i promise but this is not IT

Isn’t it interesting how both Avantika and Maitreyi are dark-skinned, yet no one points out their outfits? That’s because they look absolutely stunning their clothes are of great quality and look expensive. Lara’s outfit honestly looks like a wardrobe malfunction. https://t.co/nTMH0kbFUY pic.twitter.com/wCsXQZOUEM

Yet, netizens tried to defend Lara, explaining that the hate seemed to stem from prejudice towards the idol due to her skin color. They also added that Lara was born and raised in the US and, like many countries, her interpretation of the lehenga will be different from others.
this lara hate train from that specific demographic is 1) because they’re jealous she can do what she wants without her family beating her ass and 2) because she’s a darker skinned south indian

Indians and their internalised hate towards themselves is funny cus u will never be as cool as lara in ur lifetime and saying all these with a pfp and username of koreans is too funny like u're not even proud of ur own culture let's start there- https://t.co/MGZzwkwscV

Ykw you don’t have to like lara but every hate train that has happened against her is always about sth so minuscule but y’all have deeper issues with her and it’s always coming from the same demographic… dare i say it‘s because she is south indian.

what do indians want from lara? you're mad at her for what? not being "authentic" enough? but who decides if she is or not? she's indian american and that's who she's representing, bc that's who she is😭 she grew up in la, not the mainland, obv her upbringing was different pic.twitter.com/wJmT6W0pSN
