“Korea’s Next Top Model” Heartthrob Kim Seong Chan Passes Away After Battling Lymphoma
Beloved Korean model Kim Seong Chan (also known by his real name Kim Gyeong Mo) has unfortunately passed away after battling lymphoma for two years.

The news was shared through Kim Seong Chan’s social media account by his elder brother on November 6, KST. He wrote, “This is Kim Gyeong Mo’s older brother. Gyeong Mo passed away from cancer after more than two years of battling the disease…I have no way to contact his acquaintances, so I’m leaving this post. Please send my younger brother your warm thoughts and words of comfort.”

Kim passed at just 35 years of age. According to the obituary posted by his family, he passed away on November 6.
Kim, who was best known for his appearance on Korea’s Next Top Model Season 5, made his debut in 2013 through the 2014 S/S Unbounded AWE fashion show. In 2019, he made his Milan Fashion Week debut, walking for the 2020 S/S USER collection. Having modeled for multiple publications, he was known for his tall frame and striking visuals.

Kim publicly talked about his illness last year, sharing that he went for a brain scan after he started seeing black spots in his vision and got diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. “I really hope my fellow models and friends get brain checkups too,” he remarked. After six months of chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation, Kim appeared hopeful. In a message posted in January, he wrote, “As you can see, I’m recovering well.” However, the sudden news of his demise has left his peers and fans devastated.
