Disbanded 4th-Gen Girl Group Members Still Allegedly Tied Down By Company, Spark Unfair Contract Concerns

One of the members has come forward.

Usually, when a K-Pop group debuts, the standard contract binding them to their label expires after seven years. If the group disbands afterward, the members are usually free to make a choice, whether they want to be managed by other labels or continue with the same one. However, for one fourth-generation girl group, things have turned out differently.

RBW Entertainment’s vocal powerhouse, Purple Kiss, which debuted in 2021, was announced to be disbanding this month, after wrapping up their final schedules. The agency confirmed the news through an official statement on August 4, 2025, leaving many fans heartbroken.

However, the sadness has now turned into concern after one of the members, Swan, came forward to reveal that, despite their disbandment, each member is still tied to the company until their standard 7-year contract expires. She also expressed skepticism about the scope of the members’ activity under the current circumstances.

This information has sparked both confusion and concern among fans. Many were left asking why the company disbanded Purple Kiss if they are still planning to keep the members under their management. Others expressed their fear that RBW Entertainment might potentially sabotage the members, keeping them inactive for three more years.

Under the current agreement, all Purple Kiss members under their management’s tenure with RBW Entertainment extend to March 14, 2028.

However, the company has confirmed none of the information, and the status of the members’ schedules currently remains speculation at best.
