Many are shocked by the account’s content.

Recently, SEVENTEEN Vernon‘s mother sparked a heated discussion after a post made its way to X (formerly Twitter).

In a long post about SEVENTEEN, HYBE, and BTS, Vernon’s mother admits that BTS “built the company that was able to buy Pledis [SEVENTEEN’s label]” and claims that HYBE used SEVENTEEN to “offset the inevitable income loss that would occur” once BTS members started their military enlistment.

Along with the post mentioned above, other comments made by his mother also surfaced including an alleged support of US President Donald Trump. This led to the discovery of an account believed to be hers on X and posts that continued to spark outrage.

The account @MelodyVernonK is believed to belong to the idol’s mother, due to the tweets made on it, including one that mentions the name found on her Facebook account.

In addition to these tweets, many of her most recent ones have gained attention, including one made in response to a post defending the newly elected Muslim mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani. Some have taken her response as equating a felon (which Donald Trump technically is, despite the outdated language) to a Muslim.

Another post appears to ask someone if they have Tourettes, a neuro-developmental disorder that causes tics, in response to them repeating a phrase against Donald Trump and also using the r-word, which is considered a slur.

In response to these issues, not only has his mother been flamed, but Vernon and SEVENTEEN as well.

However, some came to Vernon’s defense, remarking that he is not responsible for his parent’s views and does not necessarily share them.

Vernon’s Instagram has also been flooded with comments surrounding the issue, both criticism and support.
