According to a court announcement issued by the Yuhang District People’s Court in Hangzhou on March 13, Jessica is being sued by Hangzhou Xuanbu Network Technology Co., Ltd. for alleged contract violations related to a series of business activities in China. The announcement revealed that the plaintiff was unable to get in touch with Jessca directly, so the court had to issue a public notice.

In the lawsuit, the plaintiff accused Jessica of failing to carry out her commercial activity obligations. They demanded that Jessica refund a 10 million RMB (about USD $1.40 million) advance payment, pay a 3 million RMB (about USD $420,000) penalty for breaching a contract, and cover 100,000 RMB (about USD $14,000) in attorney fees. The total damages claimed by the network amount to 13.1 million RMB.

In response, Jessica’s agency, Cordiel Entertainment, issued an official statement via Weibo, firmly refuting the allegations. They stated that all the claims are fabricated and baseless and insisted that Jessica’s right to reputation was infringed upon by these defaming accusations. The agency has already appointed lawyers to collect evidence and fight the case in court.
