4th Generation Idol Announces Surprise Enlistment After Two Years Of Hiatus
VERIVERY’s Hoyoung has announced his military enlistment.
On November 17, Jellyfish Entertainment revealed through its official social media accounts that he will be enlisting beginning from two weeks later.
“Hoyoung is scheduled to begin fulfilling his military duty as a social service worker starting on November 27. There will be no official event on the day he enters the training center. As the entrance ceremony is held together with many soldiers and their families, we ask fans to refrain from visiting the site or his alternative service workplace for safety reasons.”
Hoyoung halted activities in October 2023 due to symptoms of psychological anxiety. He has not returned to the team for nearly two years, and his military service will extend this hiatus further. Due to his anxiety, he will be serving as a social worker rather than in active duty.

Another member, Minchan, has also been on hiatus since December 2022. Meanwhile, all VERIVERY members recently renewed their contracts with the agency. Their fourth single album, Lost and Found, is scheduled for release on December 1.
