Former “Hangout With Yoo” Cast Member Shares Cryptic Post Following Lee Yi Kyung’s Controversial Exit
Comedian Shin Bong Sun, a former cast member of the popular MBC variety show Hangout With Yoo, has raised eyebrows with her recent social media post.

On November 24, KST, Shin posted a cryptic Instagram story with the caption, “I’m posting a good message for this morning.” The image showed a short quote which said, “Do not try to fit in for someone who doesn’t respect you.”

The story immediately sparked speculations online, with many interpreting it as her commentary on the controversial exit of Lee Yi Kyung from Hangout With Yoo. Initially, the show’s production team had stated that Lee left due to scheduling conflicts. However, the actor then claimed that he was pressured by the production team, and his claim was eventually confirmed by them.
“Hangout With Yoo” Production Team’s Troubled Statement Only Fuels Fierce Debate
Lee’s departure has raised questions about the previous members who also left the show, which include Shin Bong Sun, Jung Joon Ha, Park Jin Joo, and Lovelyz’s Mijoo. Shin, in particular, had spoken up about feeling upset by on-set incidents after initially maintaining her silence following her exit. In a YouTube appearance, the comedian admitted, “There were definitely things that upset me. In the past, even when I felt hurt, I couldn’t show it. Now I’m at an age where I can still understand the situation but also say, ‘That made me feel bad,’.” She added, “I think both the production staff and I felt uncomfortable with each other. I don’t hate them, and I do understand, but I’m also valuable enough that I shouldn’t have to disregard my own feelings.”

Jung Joon Ha, who also appeared on Shin’s channel, had confessed that after receiving the notice of his departure, he was so depressed that he started drinking alcohol at an unprecedented level. He added, “I didn’t cry, I just sobbed. Filming was every Thursday, and I couldn’t bear staying home that day.”
Hangout With Yoo, a crowd-favorite variety show that was still very popular even recently, has started to face a dwindling reputation as viewers have begun to look back at statements previously made by the departing cast members.
