Controversial Actor Allegedly Returning To The Big Screen Triggers Massive Backlash
On December 17, an industry insider told Sports Chosun that actor Yoo Ah In would return to the big screen with director Jang Jae Hyun’s new film, Vampire.

Previously, Jang Jae Hyun estimated that the film would take two years to write the screenplay and four years to release the final movie. The film is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of next year.

With this, it would be Yoo Ah In’s first return to acting after about three years. He was previously indicted without detention and put on trial on charges of propofol administration and illegal prescription of sleeping pills from September 2020 to March 2022.
With this, K-Netizens could not hide their disappointment with the alleged casting news.

- “Are there really no other actors they can use?”
- “So disappointed in the director.”
- “I liked Jang Jae Hyun…must be so easy to return to the industry for a male actor.”
- “Why are they using him? This is why the Korean film industry is ruined.”
- “I guess the Korean film industry is not dead yet…there’s more room for failure, I guess.”
- “I don’t want to see it.”
- “I mean, seeing that Ju Ji Hoon is still active really says it all.”
- “I hope the film industry fails…there’s no way to fix this…”
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In was most recently spotted at a LGBT club.
