Jun Hyun Moo Hints At Struggles In An Emotional Acceptance Speech Amid Scandal
At the “2025 KBS Entertainment Awards,” held live on December 20, 2025 (KST), former KBS announcer-turned-TV star Jun Hyun Moo took home his first-ever Daesang Prize from the channel.

The nominees for the grand prize included comedians Kim Sook and Kim Young Hee, TV stars Kim Jong Min and Boom, actor Park Bo Gum, and singer Lee Chan Won, alongside Jun Hyun Moo. The coveted Daesang ultimately went to Jun Hyun Moo for his ongoing contributions on the show Boss In The Mirror.
When his name was called, Jun Hyun Moo was stunned as he took the stage to accept the award. He noted he was underprepared for a speech because he was so sure that Park Bo Gum would take home the trophy.

I honestly thought Park Bo Gum would win tonight… When the camera came to me, I thought it was just false hope. There was also a camera in front of Park Bo Gum, so I thought that was the real one. I genuinely only prepared an acceptance speech for the ‘SBS Entertainment Awards.’ I never expected this.

After thanking the people who make Boss In The Mirror possible, Jun Hyun Moo took a trip down memory lane, thinking about the days he worked hard toward getting a job at KBS. Referring to the broadcasting channel as his “home ground,” Jun Hyun Moo appreciated finally being celebrated there after all the years.
If you subtract 20 years from 2025, that takes you to 2005. Around this exact time in 2005, while attempting the KBS announcer exam for the third time, I remember coming to the main building stairs around 4 AM and grinding my teeth, telling myself, ‘I will definitely get into KBS next year.’ And I did the following year. It’s hard to believe that 20 years after becoming an announcer, I’m receiving such a major award.
People call me ‘KBS’s son,’ but my awards always came from other places, which honestly left me feeling a bit disappointed. So I’m very grateful. I’ll take this as meaning I should work even harder for my home ground in 2026.

Then, in the midst of all the scandal surrounding I Live Alone and Amazing Saturday cast members—connected by comedian Park Na Rae and her “Auntie,” Jun Hyun Moo hinted at how difficult things have been for him lately and throughout 2025.
The hardest part of doing variety shows is having to make others laugh when you’re struggling yourself. Personally, late 2025 has been a very difficult time for me. On top of everything else, my father is unwell. I’ve been doing a lot of comedic work while going back and forth to the hospital, and it’s been physically exhausting.
I don’t think an entertainer’s role is only about making people laugh out loud. I’ll try to become a better person so that, just as we feel warmly toward someone like Park Bo Gum, people can feel that same warmth when they see me. Again, it’s been a tough end to 2025 in many ways, but I hope only good things happen to all of you. I’ll work to become a better person and share positive energy. Happy New Year, and may your days be filled with good things.
